Everything You Need To Know About The DNC WikiLeaks

For those of you who don’t know, WikiLeaks is an international organization that publishes leaked emails, agendas, and any other information that the government doesn’t want you to know. So, in theory, WikiLeaks is the worst thing out there for the United States government. Most recently, this online organization proved that the DNC was backing Hillary Clinton during the primaries, proving that the election process is rigged.

On July 25, WikiLeaks published 20,000 leaked emails that indicated that the Democratic National Committee and its chief Debbie Wasserman Schultz were plotting against Bernie Sanders’ campaign instead of treating him as a viable candidate. The emails were sent between various members of the party and the committee, trying to figure out a tactical response to the growing popularity of Senator Sanders.

WikiLeaks has also released direct quotes from members of the Democratic party that prove that they were trying to weigh Sanders down. DNC deputy communications manager Mark Paustenbach wrote, “Wondering if there’s a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never ever had his act together, that his campaign was a mess.” There were at least 20,000 quotes that nearly matched Paustenbach’s resentment for Sanders and proved that Hilary Clinton’s lead was completely biased.

The evidence also showed that this wasn’t just a recent thing. Hillary Clinton, as evidenced through these leaked emails, was backed by the DNC as early as March of 2016, when the Sanders campaign was still going strong. During this early time the DNC was also involved in a joint fundraising campaign along with Hillary Clinton. This proved that not only was Sanders fighting against Clinton, but also the entire Democratic party.

The aftermath of WikiLeaks is also proving to be quite scary. Facebook blocked users from sharing links to the WikiLeaks cite. This was reported as an “accident,” even though this has never happened before with any political site. Facebook, by banning these sites, were trying to stop people from truly understanding what was going on inside the Democratic party.

Eventually, WikiLeaks began to notice this, due to users shouting out to the group via Twitter. As resentment for Facebook grew, people were wondering why the popular social media site was stopping people’s freedom of speech. In the end, Facebook’s CSO Alex Stamos announced that they were working on the problem and that linking had now been unblocked.

The repercussions of these leaked emails will soon play out, however, there were some immediate actions taken. The leader of the Democratic Convention and Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has officially stated that she is resigning after these emails were leaked. But maybe people should wonder what good will that do.

Bernie Sanders was forced to make some comments stating that he knew that his campaign was under fire the entire time. It makes you beg the question, is America still democratic at all?
