Reality TV is full of interesting characters –that’s the primary point of the entertainment medium in the first place. Some of those characters go on to become actual actors, performers, total burnouts, and some even go on to serve in a political office. What happens to reality TV stars after their shows end can’t be predicted, and after their moment of fame is up, we wonder where they are when the cameras turn off.
Did you ever imagine that some could go on to become criminals?
From robbery to murder, here are some reality TV stars who have found themselves in handcuffs.
If you watched any VH1 dating shows back when they were popular, then you might remember the show “Megan Wants A Millionaire.” The title is pretty self-explanatory, and one of the millionaire contestants made his way onto this list… for murder! He strangled his girlfriend to death and stuffed her body in a suitcase, all while the show was airing. This caused VH1 to pull the series from the air, leaving viewers wondering if Megan ever found a millionaire.
2015 was just not Josh Duggar’s year. The former golden boy of the Duggar family had a spectacular fall from grace, starting with the revelation that he had molested five girls, including two of his own sisters, when he was fourteen years old. As if that wasn’t disgusting enough, three months later it was revealed in the Ashley Madison hacking scandal that the former member of the Family Research Council had an account with the website aimed at married men looking for an affair – and that he had used it. Josh eventually came clean about his infidelities, and “19 Kids And Counting” was temporarily pulled from TLC’s scheduling.
Even if you haven’t watched the show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” on TLC, you’ve probably heard of the wild family the show follows. Mama June Shannon was arrested in 2008 for failing to pay child support. She’s also been visited numerous times by Child Protective Services, not surprising after watching a couple minutes of her parenting tactics on the reality show.
TLC seems to have a real knack for finding families with deep dark secrets. Toby Willis of “The Willis Family” is just another example of this trend. Willis, who is the patriarch of the musical family consisting of 14 members, was arrested and charged in September 2016 with rape of a child following an encounter 12 years ago. After learning of the charges, Willis fled the family home in Tennessee for Kentucky “in an effort to avoid law enforcement.” Luckily for TLC, “The Willis Family” show had already been canceled prior to this scandal.
You probably know Vincent Margera as Don Vito on any series involving Bam Margera. In 2006, he was arrested for groping two girls in a mall. He denied the claims but was still sentenced to 12 years of probation. He was also banned from anymore MTV prank shows. That was probably for the best as he was incredibly annoying and disgusting on the shows where he was featured. He died in 2015.
Farrah Abraham is famous for many reasons: adult tapes, reality TV, and most notably her role on the MTV series “16 and Pregnant.” After being on the show, she was arrested in 2013 for a DUI. Lucky for her, she got away with only probation and a hefty fine of five grand. That was a quick downfall for Abraham.
Another MTV mommy to make the list is Jenelle Evans. Jenelle was known most exclusively for her role on the shows “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom.” Unlike her co-star Farrah Abraham, she hasn’t appeared in any adult tapes, though she has been arrested 11 times since being on the show. Most of the charges were drug-related. If you ever watched the show this fact probably doesn’t surprise you.
Yet another star of “Teen Mom” finds their way on the list. Adam Lind isn’t a mom, though, rather a teen dad. He’s best known as the baby daddy of Chelsea Houska’s daughter Aubree, from the show “Teen Mom.” Adam has been arrested three times for DUI and also driving with his license revoked. The producers of this show really knew how to pick some winners.
Debby And Mark Constantino
Many people may know Debby and Mark from the reality series “Ghost Adventures.” Outside of the show, they had many illegal adventures themselves, involving multiple charges of assault and domestic disputes. All of the violence eventually led to Mark killing Debby’s roommate, Debby, and then himself.
Teresa and Joe Giudice
Teresa and Joe are one of the many famous criminal couples of reality TV, specifically, “The Real Housewives” franchise. Teresa and Joe began their criminal career with financial fraud. They have been accused of lying to different banks about their financial status. The couple is now taking turns serving their time in prison.
Lamar Odom started his career with a promising athletic gift for basketball. However, he’s now best known for his role as Khloé Kardashian’s husband (now ex), on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” and other spin-offs. He’s also been in the media a lot for his illegal behavior, including crack cocaine use, and he has been arrested for public intoxication in the past.
Another Kardashian family member to make the list is the only male Kardashian, Rob. Rob had a civil suit filed against him after allegedly attacking a paparazzi who took shirtless pictures of him. The case was dropped after Rob agreed to pay to replace the photographer’s camera equipment.
Andy Dick has been around forever and is well-known for many different roles. One recent reality TV role he found himself on was that of “Dancing With The Stars.” After the show, he was arrested for grand theft, after apparently stealing a man’s necklace worth $1,000. Nothing surprises us when it comes to Andy Dick.
Renee Alway is known for her role on Tyra Bank’s series “America’s Next Top Model.” After appearing on the show, Renee found herself the suspect of many criminal charges. She was arrested after being found armed in a random person’s garage and was charged with burglary, fraud, and narcotics possession.
Florina Kaja is best known as Flo on the reality series “Bad Girls Club.” It’s not surprising she found herself the suspect of several criminal charges, coming from a show with that title. She was arrested for attempting prescription fraud, after trying to use her hospital bracelet to purchase medication at a CVS pharmacy under a fake name.
Mark Balelo was one of the stars of the A&E reality series “Storage Wars.” He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. He had stated in a radio interview that he was turning his life around after the charges. Unfortunately, Mark was later found dead in his place of work. The death was ruled a suicide.
Ebony was another “16 and Pregnant” star but never made her way to “Teen Mom.” Instead, she found herself being arrested on drug charges and child endangerment. She had her child taken away after authorities found a house covered in feces, fleas, and maggots. She eventually cleaned up her life and regained custody of her daughter, and now even has a second child.
Nick Hogan is the son of the famous wrestler Hulk Hogan, but is also known for his role on the family’s reality series, “Hogan Knows Best.” Nick found himself in legal trouble after totaling his car and causing severe injuries to the passenger. He served eight months behind bars for his crimes.
Jason Wahler is known for his role on the reality TV series “The Hills” as well as “Laguna Beach.” Jason was arrested three different times after being on the show. Once for a bar fight, once for a DUI, and another for hitting a woman. He has reportedly been sober for three years now.
Joe Lafont is one of the stars of the series “Swamp People.” After becoming fairly famous for his role on the show, Joe found himself being arrested for a domestic dispute. He apparently tried to beat up his girlfriend at the time and even burn her with a lit cigarette!
Mary Delgado appeared on “The Bachelor” in the hopes of finding love. She allegedly did, and even got a proposal from the bachelor. Later, however, she also found herself suspect of a violent altercation involving the two. She punched her hubby in the face, leading to their split in 2009.
Nicole is best known as Snooki from the reality series “The Jersey Shore.” Nicole was arrested in 2010 for disturbing the peace as well as disorderly conduct. Since being on the show, Nicole has cleaned up her act and is now the mother of two cute babies. She was the last reality TV star we thought would turn her life around, but she’s managed to stay out of much trouble in recent years.
